Rifts is a collection of fiction written and published in 2013. It documents the gap between an idea and its realization in seven short works of flash fiction: vignettes of an MFA admissions officer with an inflated sense of self and a body-dysmorphic MFA applicant with a bizarre reputation; grinding the bride at a wedding reception; psychosis at the end of the world; and the rediscovery of something human on the windowsill of a college classroom.
